asked questions

Qn1.How do you sleep? Isn’t it difficult to sleep in the windows?

Ans1.When the show begins it is a little difficult to adjust, but after three or four days we sleep okay.

We don’t ever completely reach a deep sleep so after the event an enormous fatigue settles in.

Qn2. Don’t you ever get bored in there?

Ans2.  We never get bored because there is always something to do, something exciting something extraordinary. It is a life lived on higher octane fuel

Qn3. Do you ever fight with each other?

Ans.3  No we never fight. We understand each other very well, and it is only because we do that the show can go ahead.

Qn4. Have you performed the urban dream capsule in other countries?

Ans4. Yes we have performed the capsule in Melbourne Australia in 1996 and in Belgium for the Gent Street Theatre Festival in 1998. after Montreal we will perform it in London for the London International Festival of the Arts.

Qn5. Is there a difference when you perform it in different countries?

Ans 5 There are differences between the different countries but the most interesting thing to observe is the similarities. Surprisingly so far the people have all taken the show and its actors to heart, and become involved in an emotional  and very moving way.

Qn6. Where are the toilets?

Ans6. The toilets are out of sight, and usually in a little cupboard or room toward the back of the space.

Qn7. How come there aren’t any women?

Ans.7  The show itself is a very difficult and in some ways dangerous thing to do. We haven’t wanted to make it more complicated and difficult than it already is. Rightly or wrongly we feel that maybe adding women to
the mix would do that. We also happen to me the exact four actors that get on extremely well together and are loathe to change the mix.

Qn8. Why do you shave your heads?

Ans 8  There is really not one answer. Because it is symbolic? Because we can’t afford shampoo!
Because it looks good? To create a  style and look. Because we started that way and have just continued that way.

Qn9. Do you have families and do you miss them?

Ans. 9 We all have partners and some of us have children, and of course we miss them dearly.

Qn10. What will you do after Montreal?

Ans10. We will take a little rest by the sea somewhere and then begin again in the London International Festival of Theatre. We will install ourselves in a very small one room space in Clapham Junction.
